Community Knections

Moms In Motion and Tendertales, disability services providers, are joining forces as "Community Knections" to meet unmet needs in the community.

Our first endeavor, "Wings For Life", a benefit for two brothers with a progressive form of MD known as Duchenne was a huge success. The community came together for a night of music, art and wine raising over $3,300 towards getting these boys a cutting edge treatment known as Vector. Vector has become FDA approved since the time of our event last fall!

Our next project is "Get The Panther On the Prowl." We have met an elderly man, Mr. Panther, who lives in a family owned trailer in Virginia. This gentleman has been on our minds since we met him over 1 year ago. He suffers from multiple catastrophic health issues and is practically confined to the home as he requires a wheelchair for mobility and his trailer is about 4 steps above ground level. When visualizing his family getting him down those stairs for doctor visits and outings, we cringe. We reached out to all of the government agencies we could think of to help fund a ramp for him and have gotten no results. This project is ongoing.
